The US Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Apple along with 16 state and district attorneys general۔
The technology company has been accused of disrupting the atmosphere of business competition, monopolizing the smartphone market and harming consumers by limiting competition۔
The lawsuit alleges that Apple’s behavior drives up costs for consumers and hinders innovation by preventing developers from releasing products on other smartphone platforms۔
Attorney General Merrick Garland emphasized the importance of enforcing antitrust laws to protect consumers from high prices and limited choices۔
He said consumers should not pay much because companies violate antitrust laws۔
In response to the allegations, Apple spokesperson Fred Sainz denied any wrongdoing and said that the case was a threat to the company’s principles۔
He said that we believe that this case is wrong according to the facts and the law and we will defend it vigorously۔
